The lights were out, but somebody was at home

We were notified a couple of weeks ago that our electricity would be interrupted today for at least two hours.True to their word, the interruption occurred, with the necessity of resetting all the clocks, TV settings, etcetera when the electricity was reconnected. This was not as onerous as doing the resetting after daylight saving changed. Then we had all the clocks and watches to readjust. This was a reminder of the Canberra fires, when we didn't have electricity for over one week.At that time we had a borrowed/lent esky and visited the local shops/garage for ice to keep the esky cool. We farmed out our freezer food to friends in other non-affected suburbs, to keep in their freezers for the duration. It was nanageable, since we did a lot of eating out.The notice of outage was signed by Michael Charlton, himself a runner who runs with the cross country club and the Vets, and nowadays, also runs with the Speedygeese (confirmed by Speedy Geoff).
