Canberra Road Running Festival

Manuka Oval is to be the headquarters for this event.

Canberra Road Running Festival & Manuka Oval
The ACT Cross Country Club announced today that the race headquarters for the inaugural Canberra Road
Running Festival will be Manuka Oval. Club President, Doug Limbrick, said: “ A unique feature of this Running
Festival will be a stadium like finish in Canberra’s iconic Manuka Oval for the half marathon, marathon and ultra
marathon competitors”. Manuka Oval offers excellent facilities for the runners and the spectators and will be a
wonderful venue for the Runners Expo which is an important part of the Festival.
The Canberra Road Running Festival will be conducted on Saturday and Sunday 1st and 2nd May 2010
and will incorporate:
• a 2km Mini Jog for children under 10 years of age
• a 5km Fun Run
• a Half Marathon (41st Rex Foulkes Half Marathon)
• a Marathon (to be known as the National Capital Marathon)
• an Ultra 50km event
• a Runners Expo
The Mini Jog and Fun run will be conducted on Saturday 1st May with the other events taking place on Sunday
2nd May. The marathon and half marathon will respectively incorporate the ACT marathon and half marathon
championships.
The Patron for the Festival is marathon champion Robert de Castella and the Festival is endorsed
by Athletics Australia.
