BBQ Stakes News 3rd March 2010


Today's run attracted 36 runners, I think.

It was the usual teams race, running in the reverse direction.

Eddy Adams, Terry Levings and Tanya Gerstack spelling) ? were the placegetters today

Garry Bowen ran a time of 36:48 with 40;33 from a handicap of 13:45.

Last years trophies have been engraved and were handed out today, with the award for the Honest John trophy going to Helen Larmour, she only had to carry home a small replica, very neatly engraved.

One of the ladies newer to the stakes was wearing a five toed pair of socks, and only has trouble with them picking up grass seeds, but she likes them otherwise.

Emma Adams ran again, and is getting used to running the course.

Shortly the BBQ Stakes is to have it's 50,000 th competitor.

It will remain a secret until the day but it will be fairly soon with the XXXXXXX th finisher in the next few runs. I won't give it away so it will be a surprise for the person achieving that finish.

I think that news was conveyed to the organiser in the past few weeks.
