Customs Joggers 19 March 2010

Customs Joggers had a good field today of somewhere near 30 competing.

They are digging up the grass to get ready for Floriade later in the year about September/October.

Today a couuple of the newer starters ran a little off course but got back to the finish in plenty of time for the announcements. Thanks to Mike for again providing the drinks. It's a long way from his car to the finish area, but he doesn't complain, and the drinks are much appreciated. Kevin does help Mike, depending upon arrival times.

The finish area last week was selected as a parking spot for a semi-trailer but the driver moved it to allow our finish in nearly the correct spot.

The ground today was a little hard but we eventually planted the start and finish flags.

There were other obstacles around the course this week, but most runners managed under the circumstances.

I met Mick Corlis after the run. He reported progress on placing lunchtime running records on the internet, and said he is nearly up to date with BBQ Stakes results.

Mick was on a run around Central Basin and was heading back to his car.
