Stromlo Forest Park

The races today at SFP were 3.25km (one lap) and 6.5km (two Laps).
Dale Chatwin and Annette Sugden were the Race Managers and did a marvellous job.
Despite the cold west wind, runners plugged away at the uphill bits and flew down wind when available for the starting and finishing bits of the course.

Results are now on the Canberra Runner Website, with help from Gerard Ryan, and Point Scores will be processed tomorrow (Sunday).

Until Next Time

Today was a strange day weather wise. The conditions were actually quite mild but that wind made it seem less so.

There were some comments about the course length being long. Garmin measures were mentioned, and the comment made that on a twisty course, it is difficult for the garmin to be accurate.

Consider this, last Thursday when I walked the course, Garmin measured 3.46 km, Wheel measured 3.375 km.

On the day of the run, Garmin measured 6.9 km.

GO FIGURE.???

I'm going with 6.9km (3.45 for one lap). That distance bears more of a relationship to the times that people ran. The course wasn't that slow - just the one short twisty bit over the river.

I think Annette's wheel is buckled.
