Shonky Awards
CONTROVERSIAL sports wristband Power Balance and painkiller Nurofen have won awards at the annual shonky awards.
The awards ceremony, hosted by consumer group Choice, handed out 8 awards this morning.Major companies Coles, Commonwealth Bank and LG also took home gongs.Coles won for its under $10 meal promotion, which Choice claimed included other ingredients for recipes that cost more than $30.The Power Balance band was allegedly tested at Choice's lab, which 'showed it did little else than empty purchasers' wallets'.Choice spokesman Christopher Zinn said the list of shonky products in the market continued to grow."This is the fifth year of the shonky awards and you'd think most companies would be doing their best to ensure they're delivering good honest products and services," Mr Zinn said.
