A Frustrating Day - now more of the same
A frustrating day started before 9 am, on Tuesday 18th, at the GP in Phillip Health Centre .
Waited for a consultation, but then was diagnosed with possible problems and was booked in for an ultrasound scan.
Others with bookings went ahead of us, as they would expect, and I was scanned about noon.
Then back to the doctor for diagnosis, More blood clots were found, and a piece of clot was flapping around, with a danger that it could break off, and migrate around the body and cause problems elsewhere.
So it was off to the casualty department at the hospital for their decision.
Fortunately, there were not many waiting in casualty.
Enough though to ensure that we waited and waited, as one does in casualty, and were finally taken in to the casualty treatmenr area for test and consultation.
After innumerable tests, and consultations in the casualty department, it was eventually decided that I would not be admitted, but be allowed to go home as an outpatient of the Oncology department.
So, we went home about 6 pm, glad to be home, but tired and exhausted.
Wednesday we went to Oncology early about 9am, and I was enrolled as an outpatient, similar to "Hospital in the home".
So it's back on Warfarin, and daily injections of Clexane, self administered.
And blood pressure tablets, and the rest.
Blood tests will be taken every second day, and depending on progress, treatment may change.
The ladies in Oncology, will be looking after me for the immediate future.
Then on the way home, we stopped at Weston Creek Service Station for petrol, not many customers so no queuing necessary and filled with petrol.
Then, on trying to start the car, it wouldn't go.
It was diagnosed with battery and alternator troubles, so got a taxi home.
They will fix it and let us know when it's ready, they needed a part which was promised for delivery at 4 pm or thereabouts.
Waited at the taxi rank first, but then rang for a taxi, had to wait outside the newsagent, and got the booked taxi within about ten minutes. (For some reason, they could not take a booking for pick up at the taxi rank.)
So, another wait for the car to be ready, today(Thursday) hopefully, the part they were hoping to get was supposed to be delivered at 4:30 pm in the afternoon.
10 am, just got called by the Weston Creek Service Station, that the car is ready for collection.
Still waiting for the Oncology ladies to come and collect some blood for testing.

Whoa, what a day!
My mum's on Warfarin, she's been on it for the last 5k years. Not fun, by any means, but it can be managed. I hope everything improves for you!
Typical runner, I can't right 5 without writing k after it. *rollseyes*
