Timing meltdown at BBQ Stakes today.
The printer clock battery decided it has had enough out of its life.
Emergency procedures were put in place by Martin Boyd, the timekeeper, and Adrian Plunkett, assisted by John Busteed, and Daniel Buckley.
Hopefully the 68 or so competitors coped with this drama, and all of them seemed satisfied after the run, as the usual chatter was evident during the announcements.
Winner was Roger Palazzo, 56 th run, and a P.B. of 27:21 on 23rd May 2000, second place was taken by Chris Pearson, ahead of Mark Sparshott in third place.
John Busteed had his Tally of runs adjusted to 912, one of the seniors in this tally, and once he was the handicapper, and provides help every week.
Bill Rendall, a previous runner in this event visited, to say he tried a run the previous day, and is suffering from sore quads, but seems determined to continue with his running after several years getting exercise through bike riding.
Bill was also a member of the ACT Veterans Athletic Club.
Best wishes Bill in your return to the running fraternity.
Putting in a big run, after his recent European holiday was Terry Levings, finishing in the middle of the pack.
Garry Bowen finished not feeling too bright after a fall, and showing the blood coming from his injury. (No photos available, but several runners were shown his injuries afterwards,)
