Ginninderra Handicap No 354 on Tue 26/02/2013 27.4C

This month's handicap was all about Jim Roberts completing his 200th run. What an amazing achievement. Jim ran in the first two Ginninderra handicaps back in 1983 before some of our handicappers were even born and has managed to get in at least a couple of runs each year since. Jim has a PB of 29.51 which as set on 02/09/1986 in handicap no 37. He has won once and been second on two occasions. Jim was awarded first pick of the wines this month in honour of his achievement. For any new runners aiming to achieve the 200 run mark, if you start now and run every month you should be able to achieve it just prior to 2030.

The handicap itself belonged to Jeff Grey who won it for the fifth time. He was also the fastest (27.10) with the only sub 30 minute time of the day. The fact that no one arrived home prior to the 50 minute mark (apart from Ian Hore who would have been a comfortable winner of the event but started early) reflected the humid conditions which made the going tough. Simon Yelland and Michael Taylor filled the minor placings.

Grant Thomas chalked up 50 runs this month.
