Mt Ainslie Run Up Tuesday 5 October 2010
The guest starter today was FRIAR, with a string of 65 Mt Ainslie Run Ups to his credit.
After, about 22 runners had started , Kerrie Loutitt arrived and started a bit later, but her start time was recorded by John Harding.
Friar got a lift to the top of Mt Ainslie by John Harding accompanied by John's pet.
Friar then walked/gingerly jogged back down the Mt Ainslie path and waited for the others to come back down the mountain. Runners today included David Osmond , David Hosking, Chris Helliwell and Trevor Jacobs who finished in that order, Geoff Barker in his pink singlet looked ready to run, while Nick Blackaby and Denis Gray warmed up for their runs in Melbourne this coming weekend, Nick for the Half Marathon, and Denis for the 10 km run.
John Dimitriou and friend ran over to the start area, but didn't participate in the run-up; another young lady ran over but was too late to join the official start.
There were two picnicking groups near the start area BBQ's enjoying their tourist visit to Canberra, and another group, including two shildren, walking up the trail, after they had already toured other sites in Canberra including Questacon.
Rad gave us an update on Carolyne, having phoned her a couple of days previously indicating that she is much better.
