A new Printer Installed,

Got a new printer today, and it was installed by the folks from "Office Essentials" in Woden.

They came at exactly the time they had indicated and spent almost one hour installing it, and doing the set up process.

Delivery was included and set up was an extra fee.  There were a couple of peculiarities, which the "technician" sorted out and got me to print a few  page while he was here in order to ensure everything was working as it should.

So, I am quite happy to have made the purchase, the old printer was here for about 4 years, and had served to print out numerous copies of Vetrunner, run results, TV Programes, etc..

Easybiz is a company that set up my new computer when the old computer collapsed.Mike is good to deal with, mobile number 0408 402 917, very knowledgable and helpful. The old printer sent a message as "U 052 error,  the type of print head is incorrect, install the correct print head", query on internet had all sorts of answers that were tried, pressing buttons in sequence, and in combination.  I thought it was time I got a new printer, and I am happy with it .
I had only recently put in new cartridges, after printing an 100 page document,

Even got it to print from the paper tray, whereas initially it would only print from the reserve  tray.

A canon technician in Fyshwick 6280 6498 charges $66 to have a look and diagnose the problems, and then will charge $189 for a full repair.

Brian Got Benched at Thredbo

Thredbo Running Week this year attracted around 300 or so of the dedicated running community.

A highlight of the event this year was the unveiling/dedication of an outdoor bench in the name of Brian Lenton, a long time organiser of Thredbo Running Week.

The event is now under the auspices of The YMCA Running Club, with Phil Aungles as the organiser.

Phil is a long time supporter of running in Canberra, and has his own  family of runners to support him in his endeavors.

BBQ Stakes 23 Jan 2013 Notes

Today's winner was Helen Larmour. she arrived early today and put in a good run to take home the First place.  And looked as fresh as when she started.

Bob Harlow, last week's winner recorded the times and even though last minute attempts were made to inform him that Adrian was willing to do the duty this week, due to Adrian having recently undergoing some minor surgeries, Bob still looked after the timer's duties.

Danny Hansen arrived early this week compared to last week, and Tim and Gabrielle both ran today.

52 ran today and Julie Quinn, running in two thin T-Shirts had another fast time, completing her 95 th BBQ Stakes.

Peter Thomson, a once organiser of the Lake Tuggeranong Stakes, ran today, after running at Lake Tuggeranong yesterday, guess he is on holidays at the moment, so he may turn up at Customs Joggers this Friday.

A new start time will be implemented for the BBQ Stakes from next week, the clock will start 10 minutes earlier than at present, at 10 minutes past 12 o'clock.

Target time for the stakes will be 50 minutes, that means runners will complete the course from 1 O'Clock.

Enquiries to Adrian Plunkett at adrian.plunkett@ipaustralia.gov.au

Those who have seen The Runners Shop latest advertising better hurry along, in that Brian will be leaving the shop this coming saturday, and Nick Walshe, the new owner will be in total charge.

We are not sure at the moment, what will happen to the make up of the runners shop sale advertising, will Brian smile, or will there be a new smiling Nick?

And from Kerrie Tanner :-- Great turn out again today in the BBQ stakes...worthy winner Helen
Lamour followed by Simon Tuan and Andrew Blyton. Hope Lloyd Edwards is not too sore after his big fall at least he had plenty of blood at the end to show off.
***************************************************************

New start time next week so anyone interested in starting out walking or is returning to running we will be starting at 12.10 (allowing 50 mins to cater for walkers). Anyone who missed this announcement doesn't have to worry as their start times will be the same as every week your handicap will have 10 mins added to it to allow for the extra 10min at the start and we will still be finishing at 1pm

On a very hot and windy day there was a good field of 19 hardy/crazy runners turn up, including Scott Imhoff and Peter James – welcome to both.  Well done to all who braved the conditions.

Also, welcome back to handicapper Simon who will be closely scrutinising performances to set up handicap times for a new point score competition to start on Friday 1 February.

Because of the heat and conditions, runners were able to leave when they wished.  The results therefore show some elapsed times and some finish times, these in turn depending on start times.  There were lucky draws for Runners Shop vouchers and socks after the run.

Many thanks to Brian and Nick at the Runners Shop.  Please show your support by patronising their sale and, remember, that in addition to the already heavy discounts, you’ll get an extra 10% off if you mention you’re with CJs.

Many thanks to Mike for providing very welcome drinks on such a hot day.

For recent winners who haven’t picked up their prizes, please dip into the magic bag next time you run.  The Runners Shop has just renewed our supply of vouchers and we still have lots of socks.

Next CJ’s run will be Friday 25 January 2013.  This is a Friday before a long weekend but we will have the run as normal.  Again, there will be no prizes or points based on finishing position for this run as it will not be properly handicapped.  Instead, we’ll have lucky draws.  Usual charge of $1 will apply.
